End of the year Reflections

Have you being doing your writing,reading,maths and inquiry? Well team 4 have been doing all of those things.

reading

In the beginning of the year I was reading at 9 years old. Now, at the end of the year I am reading at 10 year old .My favourite story was killer plants because you can learn about plants.Next I hope that I can read at 12 years old.

writing

This year we have been writing a lot about different things to do. One them was the chocolate game one of my

favourites. we learnt how to put detailed in your  paragraph  next year I hope that my writing can be better than this year.

maths

This year my maths as improve from last year. Timetables have improved two I only knew my 6’s now I know my 12’s, I am so looking forward for next for hard things to do.

inquiry

My favourite inquiry was trade and enterprise. Because we got to make a project with you friends and sell them with your friends .That was my favourite part of trade and enterprise. Next year  I hope that we can make another  project.

This year was one of the best years! Going camp hanging with your friends and making new friends as well.

Camp Bentzon

Have you ever been to camp Bentzon before. Well the whole of year six’s went to kawau island.

Do you know how we got to kawau island? Well you need to take the bus to sandspit in warkworth. That took two hours from school to sandspit and from sandspit to kawau island it took a half hour.

On first day of camp we went for hike.People were  complaining and whining it was so so long. everyone was crashing and bumping into people.

After the hike went back to camp Benzton there was so many options to do there was bombing of the wharf, bombing of pontoon ,play volleyball and staying in you cabin to talk or sleep.

I felt that camp was fun next time I might go there in the future.

weet bix challenge with cream

P1 introduction

This morning the whole year six and fives went to have a weet bix eating competition. The silly food was weet bix with expired cream yuck disgusting! With apples even disgusting er.

P2 How to play it

Do you know how to play the weet bix game well it’s your lucky day. Things that you need for this game is weet bix ,expired cream, five plastic plates and a apples.

P3 My favourite part

When it was me Montel turn Montel went first eating. As soon they said go I picked up the weet bix and smashed on Montel’s nose.Then as I tried to pick the apple up he spited on my. hand.Then the countdown went down everyone was yelling ten! eight! seven! six! five! four! three! two! one! yeah we are finished.

P4 My turn

The Next couple of minutes it was my turn to eat the weet bix and the apple. The part that I didn't like was eating the cream with weet bix. Montel was controlling me because I couldn't move I only could move my mouth to eat the things then it was finished.

P5 conclusion

I felt that game was so excited and so funny that we might even play it again.

Kaka is a herbivore they often eat nectar, fruit  grubs,seeds.

The kaka is medium size it measures up to 45cm and (18in)in length. Males weigh  up to 475 grams that is heavy then a block of butter .And females weigh 425 grams that’s a north island Kaka.

Habitat

 The kaka lives on low land and it as mid native forest. it live it’s stronghold offshore s. of the kapiti island, codfish island and little barrier island.

Other Interesting Facts:The population for the kaka is 1000-5000.The kaka predators are rats,stoats and possums.

Holiday Highlight OR Immersion Assembly

Start your writing here: Guess what I  did in the holidays I went ten pin bowling in Panmure with my mum and my dad we played two games each.

In the first week of holidays can you guess where I went? I went ten pin Bowling with my parents!! I wanted to go first so I used ball 7. The first one I rolled went in the gutter. I got so angry  that i just picked the ball up and rolled it fast and I knocked over nine pins. Then i was happy has a monkey then I sat down waiting for my next turn.

In the second week of the holidays then me my dad went to  movies to watch pixels . We got popcorn .  Before the movie started we went into the game area to play some games then me and my dad went inside to get in our seats.

After the movies we went to the food court to have something to eat. me and my dad had lunch . I had  big Mac my dad had bacon and eggs we sat down having lunch. then after that we went home for a sleep we where so tired that we couldn't do nothing.

I felt so happy that me and my dad had some son and dad time because he is always at work.

I really liked this movie rate out 8/10 because I tuther it could've  been more good that’s why i give it an 8/10.

Eating Worms

WALT: I am thinking about my purpose and reader by planning my recount.

Have you ever made worms before at school?  Well our reading class did it with Mrs Garden.

We got into a circle to have a turn each.  Next we put the dry worms into a bowl .Then we put the chicken flavoured in the bowl then we waited for the kettle to boil.Then Mrs Garden put the hot water in for us.

When the worms were all cooked Mrs Garden dropped them Into our mouths. Juice was on every face and clothes. It was so difficult to eat because it is getting dropped. y after one turn we had seconds.

Chicken worms are so delicious. I didn't know that you just need three ingredients.

Do you know how to make home-made butter? Before well class 8 Literacy group made butter today with Mrs Garden. If you don’t know how to make butter you just get cream and a little bit of salt then you need to shake into it turns into nice and slimy butter.Yum! we made home-made butter. When i looked at it the butter was so soft. Then we put the nice butter on the beard.

Maybe next time we can make something to cook like cakes,cupcakes.

Grass to glass Part 1

Walt: Add detail to the beginning of sentences.Eating grass Cows eat 70 kilograms of grass a day,so they can get healthy and move to the milk shed. In the winter farm’s go around giving silage. To cows, because the grass doesn't grow back.

Digestion Cows have four stomachs, where the grass gets broken up. It is kind of weird because they have  four stomachs and we have one stomachs they chew then they burp it up then it goes few digestion that is disgusting!!!!Milking happens twice a day , it can not be missed out because they might get pain infections. It takes 7 to 8 minutes per day. It never be missed out And they need to be milked at the same time they get milked in different sheds like the rotary and herring bones.

Living on are farm

Living on Farm with milking cow’s are called dairy farms. They produce milk which can be made into dairy products such as butter and cheese.

The most thing that i want to do on our farm is milk cows ride on atv to get the cows then go back in the shed and put the suction cups on her tits then let her go off to the paddock and eat more green and lovely grass

The second most exciting thing on the farm is driving a tractor so up high the machine that i want use is hay baler because so i can look after the cows and give them.

Although there would be lots of fun things to do living on a dairy farm, and I would like to visit one, I am a city boy at heart. I think I’m happy just to learn about what kids do growing up on a farm.
